About Fahr Greenhouses

Dorothy and Leonard Fahr established Fahr Greenhouse in 1950.  The business is still operated by family members;

Patrick and Mary Bellrose
Larry Fahr.

We are located on St. Albans road in scenic Wildwood, Missouri (West St. Louis County).

Currently we have 75,000 square feet of greenhouses and about 3 acres of outdoor production.

Our Mission

To produce quality plants that completely satisfy the end user so that they will continue to buy plants from us in the future. To fulfill this mission, Fahr Greenhouses has set the following goals:

• Attempt to educate ALL of our customers on how to get the best use out of the product they are buying.
   
• To produce a product that is of the highest quality.
   
• To deliver the product to the customer exactly how and when they want it.
   

Growing Green

At Fahr Greenhouses we have been using environmentally helpful practices since the 1980’s.  These are some of the measures we have taken:

• Using renewable, biodegradable pots.
• Partnering with the Missouri Botanical Garden to recycle CLEAN plastic pots.
  We are a collection station for the Missouri Botanical Garden’s recycling program.  Bring your CLEAN plastic pots, regardless of where you bought them, to be recycled into garden products.
• Using Biomass fuels to heat the greenhouses.
• Leading the industry in Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

Natural Solutions

We are expanding our line of organic products.  Our customers have told us about their success with the “Pharm” certified organic pesticides.  This year we have added worm castings, an ideal soil amendment, to our line.  You can find them in our “Natural Solutions” area.

Natural products work well if careful attention is paid to how and when they are applied.  Feel free to ask our staff about proper use of these products.
